Meta is going to launch a Twitter-like microblogging platform

Twitter is the world's most popular microblogging platform.  Twitter, owned by Elon Musk of Tesla fame, is on the rise.  This time Facebook's parent organization Meta wants to share in that fame.  The company announced the launch of a microblogging platform called Threads.
The Threads app is expected to be released on Thursday.  Its name has already appeared on a list of Apple's App Store.  One of the special features of this app will be that you will find your Instagram followers in it.  And at the same time, it has been known that the same name can be kept in Instagram and Threads app.

Elon Musk bought Twitter in 2022 for $44 billion.  Since then he has faced numerous controversies.  In this situation, a section of speculators think that Meta's new threads will pose a big challenge for Twitter.  Last week, Tesla owner Musk announced a slate of new restrictions on Twitter.  In fact, the number of tweets users can see per day is limited.

However, alternative microblogging sites such as Mastodon and Blue Sky have seen an increase in user numbers since Mask's acquisition.  No one could challenge Twitter  But Instagram already has several million registered users and has a history of introducing new features based on the success of other social media companies.

Launching Threads could become a major challenge for Musk's Twitter.  While Elon Musk has recently come under fire for trying to boost Twitter's revenue and reshape the platform in his own image. After acquiring the company late last year, he laid off about 80 percent of his staff and reinstated a number of banned accounts, including those of former US President Donald Trump and the conservative satirical news site Babylon B.

Many advertisers have already stopped spending on Twitter due to concerns about harmful content coming to the platform.  Even according to some news media, Twitter's active users have disengaged from the social site.
